Particle Counting and Image Analysis

LPD Lab Services offers particle counting and characterisation services to determine shape, size and type of particle. Determination of the morphology and composition of particles can be used to help identify contamination sources, often in the case of blockages.

• Optical Microscopy particle counting, measurement and image analysis of skin creams to establish the number of particles over a particular size.
• Semi-automated particle counting in respirable pharmaceutical products to investigate & eliminate contamination sources using a combination of optical microscopy, SEM/EDX and image analysis techniques. 
• Paint, adhesive, sealant and gasket filler fingerprinting.
• Analysis of accumulated dust to identify hazardous particles.
• Particle counting to determine the size, shape factors and chemistry of pharmaceutical drug, fillers and contaminants on filters using SEM/EDX
